Apple customers who upgraded to the latest iPhone have been complaining that the 5s has a bug that causes the phone to reboot regularly.
This is just part of the problem as iPhone 5s phones are crashing at twice as the older, standard iPhone 5 models, according to AllThingsD.
Online message boards have been filled with unanswered questions about why their screens go completely blue when they try to a different app.
The bug even has its own name now: The Blue Screen of Death.
The name may sound familiar to earlier Apple users who had waves of terror fly up their spine as soon as they saw the 'spinning wheel of death' that inevitably meant the computer was about to crash.
This new version of the old problem apparently happens the most frequently when users start in the Numbers, Pages or Keynote applications and then go to switch to something else.
Rather than bringing up the desired app, a blue screen appears and then the phone reboots.
Tech whizzes have found that one way of avoiding the situation is to sign out of said applications formally by going back to the main screen before switching to another open application.
Apple says that its new iPhones will go on sale in Italy, Russia, Spain and more than 25 other countries on October 25.
The phones also will be available in more than a dozen other countries, including India and Mexico, on November 1.
The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C both went on sale in the U.S. last month. They are also currently being sold in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
The 5S starts at $199 in the U.S. when bought along with a new wireless plan.
The 5C, a cheaper version of the phone geared to emerging markets, starts at $99 in the U.S. with a new wireless plan.
