Since I was old enough to learn I have a lot from my parents like how to behave publicly, how to pay attention to table manners and etc. Among all those, I personally think the most useful thing I’ve learned from them is cooking. I learned it well and now I can cook a fabulous meal in my spare time. Indeed, I learned cooking just at home from my mother before I went to university. My mother is an expert at cooking and she though when living independently, the ability to cook is fairly important, because good dinner can guarantee our health. So my mum taught me how to select fresh vegetables and how to make a meal delicious. In the near future, I will study abroad, and I need to how can I take care of myself. Cooking is undoubtedly a necessary skill for living in a good way, for I do not like foreign food, such as, hamburger, sandwich, french fires and I just enjoy Chinese food. My mother believes when I go abroad I not only cook a meal to me to eat, but also can cook a meal to my friends to eat ,and let them know Chinese food. In my mother’s eyes, cooking is for me both a skill to live and a means to communicate with others in a foreign country.
