Ammonia leak in China kills 15
Fifteen people are dead following an ammonia leak at this cold storage facility in Shanghai, according to Chinese state media. Twenty-six others were injured in the accident and eight remain in critical condition. The cause of the leak - which happened Saturday morning - remains under investigation. "At the moment, I don't know the detailed situation," said this firefighter. One witness said he saw workers running from the building at around 11 in the morning. Soon afterwards, a distinct smell reportedly began wafting from the facility. China, the world's second-largest economy, has a poor record when it comes to workplace safety. In June alone, 120 people died when a fire engulfed a chicken processing plant in north-eastern Jilin province.
