Li Na, Peng Shuai make history in WTA rankings
李娜的WTA排名正式晋升至世界第二，这位来自中国武汉的姑娘再度创造纪录――刷新亚洲球员所取得的最高单打排名，成为第七位打进TOP2的超30岁球员。
WTA排行榜上，值得一提的还有金花彭帅，她携手中华台北球员谢淑薇取得多哈赛冠军，登顶女双世界第一，同时也成为首位登顶世界第一的中国球员。
China's Li Na didn’t make it to the final in Doha, but that hasn’t stopped her from reaching a newAsian milestone in the latest WTA rankings.
Helped in no small part by last month’s Australian Open victory she’s up to a career high two theworld.
While another Chinese star, Peng Shuai, is now one the top-ranked doubles player.
It’s been known since Melbourne Park, Li Na would eventually move up to second spot, playersdefend points over a 12 month period so now it is official.
This is the highest singles ranking for a Chinese or Asian tennis player. Serena Williams remains wellahead at Number One, while Agnieszka Radwanska sits third, and Victoria Azarenka’s fourth, MariaSharpaova is fifth.

The same pair won the doubles tournament in Qatar over the weekend which pushes them toone and two in the WTA doubles standings. They replace the Italian duo of Roberta Vinci and SaraErrani.(CCTV)
