Former F1 doctor claims ''serious lapses of judgment'' made Michael Schumacher's condition worse after ski accident
Michael Schumacher’s condition was made worse by “serious lapses of judgment” in his care, F1’s former leading doctor claimed today.
Gary Hartstein, the sport’s chief medic between 2005 and 2012, alleged “usually impeccable sources” told him lapses in Schumacher’s treatment in the crucial stages before he arrived at hospital “could, and almost certainly did, worsen the outcome in Michael’s case”.
He also said it was becoming “less and less likely” the motor racing star, 45, would pull out of his coma.
American Dr Hartstein, 58, who worked with Schumacher during his time on the grid, said: “As time goes on it becomes less and less likely Michael will emerge to any significant extent.”
He suggested the world must brace itself for the worst and added: “I always knew he was adored. I spent years at circuits drenched in red by the Ferrari caps, flags, and shirts, and all of that for Michael.
"I’m staggered by the depth and persistence of his fans’ love for him.

Dad-of-two Schumacher, married to Corinna, has been in a coma for three months, with no signs of coming round.
The seven-time Formula One world champ hit his head on a rock while skiing at French resort Meribel on December 29.
On his blog, Dr Hartstein, now Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Liege Hospital in Belgium, claimed doctors would soon have to decide if the star’s bed should go to a patient in greater need of immediate intensive care.
That would see him transferred from hospital in Grenoble, France, to another intensive care unit, or he would have one built at home, he added.
Schumacher’s spokeswoman last week said the “waking-up phase” was continuing and would “take as long as it takes”.
And his manager Sabine Kehm added they had total confidence in the hospital. He said: “We’re taking this fight on together with the team of doctors, whom we fully trust.”
But neurology experts believe the racer’s condition is far worse than has been revealed and only a miracle can save him.

如果是这样，车王将会被转送至法国Grenoble医院的重症监护室，或是在他的家中建立这样的一套设备。
有神经科专家表示，车王的情况可能比透露的还要糟糕，而能拯救他的可能只有奇迹了。
