Air China said in a statement on Wednesday that the in-flight Wi-Fi service is able to provide users up to 30 megabytes of bandwidth through a wireless connection with ground telecommunication stations. The system, which is called Air-to-Ground network, boasts cutting-edge 4G technologies, it added.
国航在周三的一份声明中表示，机上无线网络服务能够通过与地面通讯基站的无线连接为乘客提供最大30M的带宽。与地面基站连接的系统叫做地空宽带通信，该系统基于先进的4G技术。
机上无线网络服务(in-flight Wi-Fi service)一直是很多乘客期望的机上服务。此次国航体验活动中，乘客用自己的电子设备连接到无线网络后，就可进行网页浏览(Internet surfing)、即时通信(instant communication)、视频通话(video chat)、邮件收发(emailing)等各项与平时体验毫无差异的移动互联网服务。不过，机上网络服务在飞机起飞(taking off)和降落(landing)期间不能使用，乘客随身携带的手机在飞行过程中仍需处于关闭状态。
我们平时可以享受的机上服务(in-flight service)有：行李服务(baggage service)，机上餐食(in-flight meals)，机上杂志(in-flight magazines)，以及机上娱乐(in-flight entertainment)。
