用剑桥的官方定义来讲part 1考官是想跟你聊聊“兴趣爱好，习惯背景”等问题，本质上来讲就像一个chat, 只不过是一个只能他问你了解你的chat。(很像欧美明星接受快问快答采访，同学们可以把自己脑补成superstar, then you will be more enjoyable in the test.) 上面三个话题可以说是part1考官的切入点，考生通常至少遇到三个话题的一个，所以考前准备好上述话题至关重要。

“Are you a student or do you have a job”通常是这个话题的开篇问题，考官会根据考生这个问题的回答选择相关的后续问题。
对于大学生而言强烈建议将 “I am a student in Hong Kong university”中的student替换掉。从大一到大四，每一个级别都有对应的specific name: 大一 freshman (新鲜的可人儿);大二 sophomore (混了一年有点儿老练了，这个词来源于sophisticat);大三 junior (开始有级别了);大四senior (恭喜你成为了高级学生党)。如果考场上一紧张实在是四个词傻傻分不清楚了，记住，还有一个这四个的替代词 undergraduate !
在“I am a freshman/sophomore/junior/senior in Hong Kong university”的基础之上，我们完全可以再在句式上进行扩充。直接在university后面跟逗号，用which引导一个非限制性定于从句带出学校的方位。
e.g.: I am a freshman in City University of HK, which is located in the center of Kowloon Tong.
除了方位，也可以在其他任何方面进行补充说明，
e.g.: I am a teacher in Zhan.com, which is the largest and the most promising online education company in China.
I am a student in the 4th middle school, which is established 50 years ago.
最后用一两句谈谈自己的感受，这个问题就可以完美结束了。
e.g.: I am really proud to be a member of such a promising company with great reputation.
I really hope to achieve all my efforts in the following days.

同学们在回答“where is your hometown”的时候，可以完全采用上面的方法，主句给出名字，从句对家乡进行描述说明，最后用自己的感受或点评结尾。
e.g : My hometown is Chengdu, which is an inland metropolis located in the west of China. Chengdu enjoys the reputation of “land of abundance”. That’s why people here are a kind of lazy. For them nothing is as important as enjoy life.
在谈家乡好的时候大家都会有思路，但是偏偏雅思有很多涉及negative的话题，比如 what do you dislike about your hometown?
对于这道题，大家可以从交通和环境两个大方面入手，毕竟这是中国几乎所有城市的通病。可以借鉴使用的词汇有：
smoggy adj. 烟雾重的
haze n. 霾
respiratory disease 呼吸系统疾病
car exhaust fumes 汽车尾气
poisonous 有毒的
hustle and bustle 喧闹的
rush hours 上下班高峰期
stuck in traffic congestion/ jams 堵车
? transportation/travel
这个话题时常放在hometown之后，考官会很自然地问一句“ how is the transportation in your hometown”如果不太好，上面的词汇短语就可以用起来了。在这个话题里面会涉及到一种题型叫做比较类，
e.g.: Do you prefer traveling by train or by air?
对这种有明确选择性的问题，建议大家第一句话是明确作出选择。然后在进行对比的时候正反面不重合的讲。我们可以看到在选择类问题时通畅A的优点反过来就是B的缺点。比如traveling by air的优点：fast, comfortable, time saving反过来就是traveling by train 的缺点: slow, not comfortable, time consuming。在答题的时候可以先说A的某一优点再说B的另外方面的缺点，
e,g,: I prefer traveling by air. Because it is time saving. I can get everywhere very convenient. Also, I always think traveling by train is not comfortable and noisy. That’s why air is always my first choice.
