Knowledge and Diploma

It is widely believed that a high diploma will bring us a bright future.Many people think high-level diploma is equal to profound knowledge and exceptional ability.Companies are inclined to hire a job candidate according to his diploma.In one word,there does exist a social reality-the higher diploma one gets,the more popular he becomes.

On the contrary,others claim that competence or knowledge means more than diploma.First and foremost,a diploma is only the acknowledgment of one’s educational experience rather than a guarantee of ability.Thus,the depth of one’s knowledge can’t be measured by the level of one’s diploma.Besides,many knowledgeable people don’t possess a high diploma.

From my standpoint,no one should ever equate a diploma with knowledge,because a diploma is nothing but a proof of a short-term study while your true ability and knowledge come from your hard work and lifelong devotion.
