1.

Reading

1. 影响生态平衡,狼多了,麋鹿的数量就减少了;

2. 影响当地经济,牧场主抱怨自己的羊群被狼吃了啥的;

Listening:

1. 不但不影响生态平衡,反而促进。没有狼,那种以麋鹿开头的动物越来越多,狼回归了之后,麋鹿这种动物终于减少了一点,这样生态慢慢平衡;

2. 狼只在野生动物少的时候才会捕食家畜,而且就算捕了,政府也会赔偿牧场主,会影响他们的收入和当地经济;

The lectureopposes the view mentioned in the reading with strong supporting evidencespresented, aiming to further illustrate that it is positive to let the wolfpack back into the ecology.

Firstly, from theperspective of eco-balance, the professor states his doubt, because accordingto the lecture, without the existence of predators, the population of elk keepsgrowing in the area, which has deteriorated the vegetation. The return of wolfis an effective measure to bring the number of elk back to normal.

Moreover, judgingfrom the economic loss of local ranchers, the professor holds a different view,as the lecture further illustrates that wolves will not hunt livestock untilthere is little prey in the wild. And even if the animals in the farm are hurt,the local government will remedy for the loss.

Last but notleast, on the point of safety, the professor never fails to express hisconcern, because in terms of the listening, there is few records of wolfattack. The only reason why human beings are afraid of wolf is that the wolfhowls like a threat.

Reading:

1. 加拿大政府做了一项调查,16 岁以下的年轻人当中,不足25%会说这种语言;

2. 现在工作场所必须要使用国际化的语言;

Listening

1. 调查不精确,因为很多年轻人说这种语言的现代版本;

2. 很多本土渔民也经常买东西,他们只会说这种语言,所以双语的人才吃香;

The lecture opposesthe view mentioned in the reading with strong supporting evidence presented,aiming to further deny the decrease in population adopting the traditionaldialect in Canada.

Firstly, from theperspective of the accuracy of the survey, the professor states his doubt,because according to the lecture, the survey is not accurate enough as a greatnumber of young people use the modern version of the language.

Moreover, judgingfrom the scope of the language use, the professor holds a different view, as thelecture further illustrates that business surroundings have to take a largenumber of fishermen in the local area, who only speak the dialect, intoconsideration. Therefore, whoever is bilingual is more competitive in theworking environment.

Last but notleast, on the point of the frequency of the language use, the professor neverfails to express his concern, because in terms of the listening, a multiple ofyoung people have adopted the language to communicate online, and thus manysocial websites have taken this language.

3.

1. 这个人深知王子早年的生活习惯,王室的利益、习惯还有家庭情况;

2. 王室早期的仆人们都觉得他的行为举止很像当年的王子;

Listening:

1. 王子的习惯和法国的历史都是可以通过研究学习的,而且这个人的法语很烂;

2. 这个人一直给真王子的姐姐写信,姐姐都不见他,而且,姐姐看过照片都认不出这个人是王子;

The lectureopposes the view mentioned in the reading with strong supporting evidencespresented, aiming to further prove that Wilhelm Naundorff was not the lostprince of France.

Firstly, from theperspective of his comprehension of the royal routines, the professor stateshis doubt, because according to the lecture, the daily habits could be learnedfrom history materials and he was bad in French, which indicates he could nothave been the prince of France.

Moreover, judgingfrom his behavioral similarity to the prince, the professor holds a differentview, as the lecture further illustrates that he had kept writing to the sisterof this prince, but she refused to meet him. And also, the sister had seen hispicture and found little similarity in his appearance to the lost prince.

Last but not least,on the point of the arsenic content in his remains, the professor never failsto express his concern, because in terms of the listening, the arsenic contentmay have been absorbed from the coffin after his death. If he had indeed beenkilled by arsenic, there should be higher level of arsenic content remaining inthe bone.

4.

1.人工捕捉它们来保护珊瑚礁生物系统;

2.引入鱼市(fish market),这样可以减少对当地的鱼的需要,让它们能有时间恢复;

Listening:

1.人工捕捉无法区分狮子鱼(lionfish)和其他鱼,很多稀有的鱼也都在珊瑚礁,会牵连其他鱼种;

2.引进市场会导致有人人工养殖。狮子鱼(lionfish)如果从养鱼场逃离,这就造成了更严重的入侵问题;

The listening andthe reading both discuss three ways of tackling lionfish’s expansion from theIndian Ocean to the Pacific. However, what the reading suggests is quitedifferent from the main idea in the listening.

First, in thereading, it is said that the migrated lionfish should be captured by human toprotect the coral reef system. In contrast, the professor holds a differentview that many people cannot distinguish lionfish from other fishes. Moreover,many rare fishes also live in coral reef, which means that the way mentioned inthe reading will do harm to other kinds of fishes.

Second, the authorof the reading asserts that local fish can have enough time to recover if weintroduce the lionfish to the fish market. On the contrary, the lecturerrefutes such opinion by pointing out that domesticating lionfish escapes fromfarms, more invasive problems need to be fixed. This directly contradicts whatthe reading indicates.

Third, the readingpassage considers that eating the lionfish for its protein and little fat canalso solve the problem. Nevertheless, the speaker disagrees with thisperspective and says that some lionfish is toxin and if we take it as food, wewill suffer from vomiting numbness arching. What’s more, it is impossible forus to examine every fish, so it is unreasonable to east the lionfish. This isanother part where the listening contravenes the reading.

5.

1. 相关的规定已经存在,要求公司在池塘上使用班轮;

2. 他怕严格的新规定会让人们不敢再买循环后的煤灰;

Listening:

1. 原本的规定只要求公司在新的池塘上用班轮,不要求旧班轮。所以现在原来的池塘上还是会产生许多煤灰,会进入地下水,最后污染饮用水;

2. 教授举了汞的例子:在汞的问题上也有很严格的规定,但是人们50多年来依然在买循环使用的汞;

The lecturerefutes the view mentioned in the reading with strong supporting evidencespresents, aiming to further emphasize that it is quite necessary to impose newand much stricter regulations on handling and storing coal ash.

Firstly, from theperspective of current regulation, the professor states his doubt, becauseaccording to the lecture, the regulation only applies to the new ponds, and theold ones keep producing coal ash, which goes into underground water andpollutes the environment.

Moreover, judgingfrom sale of recycled coal ash, the professor holds a different view, as thelecture further illustrates that mercury, strict rules, has won market share overthe past 50 years.

Last but notleast, on the point of increasing cost, the professor never fails to expresshis concern, because even though the cost of electricity will increase forbillons, people will have to take a one percent increase individually and it isnot a big price to pay to have a cleaner environment.
