1、turbine /ˈtɜːbaɪn/

turbine是名词，意为“涡轮机，汽轮机”。

涡轮发动机(Turbine engine，或常简称为涡轮)是一种利用旋转的机件自穿过它的流体中汲取动能的发动机形式。经常在飞机与大型的船舶或车辆上看到其应用。

2、turbulent /ˈtɜːbjələnt/

turbulent是形容词，指空气或水“汹涌的，猛烈的”，也可引申为“动荡的，混乱的”。

The sea was too turbulent for us to be able to take the boat out.

大海波涛汹涌，我们无法驾船出海。

He has had a turbulent political career.

他的政治生涯动荡不定。

The turbulent world of Middle Eastern politics defies prediction.

中东动荡不安的政治局势让人难以预测。

3、turnover /ˈtɜːnəʊvə/

turnover是名词，第一指一定时期内的“营业额，交易量”，第二指”人事变更率或者货物周转率”。

The business has an annual turnover of £50 000.

这家公司的年营业额达5万英镑。

The large number of temporary contracts resulted in a high turnover of staff.

临时合约多，人员变更率就很高。

4、tutor /ˈtjuːtə/

tutor是名词，意为“私人教师，家庭教师”，在英国大学也可指“导师”。

During my illness I was taught by a series of home tutors.

我生病期间由一些家庭教师教我。

His tutor encouraged him to read widely in philosophy.

他的导师鼓励他广泛阅读哲学著作。

5、twinkle /ˈtwɪŋkl/

twinkle作动词和名词都可以，意为“闪烁，闪耀”。

The lights of the town twinkled in the distance.

6、twist /twɪst/

twist作名词，意为“转动，扭动，旋转”，也可指故事或情况的“转折，突然变化”。

The child twisted the wire into the shape of a star.

这孩子把铜丝拗成了一个五角星。

It's a shame the way that the media can twist your words and misrepresent you.

媒体歪曲他人言论、曲解他人意图的做法真是可耻。

She was staring down at her hands, twisting the ring on her finger.

7、trim /trɪm/

9、triple /ˈtrɪpl/

triple作形容词，意为“三个的，三部分的，三倍的“，也可直接作动词，意为“成为原来的三倍”。

Her trainer is a triple Olympic champion.

The amount of alcohol in his blood was triple the legal maximum.

他血液中的酒精含量为法定最高限量的三倍。

10、triumph /ˈtraɪʌmf/

triumph是名词，意为“巨大的成功，伟大的胜利”，也可指胜利后的“喜悦，狂喜”。
