1. 其实不仅仅是文艺综艺类的节目关注中国文化，就像我主持的《新闻联播》节目，刚刚过去的春节里，大家都注意到了老百姓自拍的《厉害了 我的国》，在百度搜索量已经超过了1个亿。
Chinese culture features prominently in a wide range of programs other than entertainment and variety shows. A case in point is the CCTV News of which I am an anchor/presenter. During the last Spring Festival, a program entitled “You rock, my country!”(Chinese characters: 厉害了 我的国) shot by ordinary people themselves captured extensive attention, garnering/registering/recording/posting over 100 million searches (search queries) at Baidu, China’s answer to Google.
2. 有一个观众说《新闻联播》怎么成了催泪弹，很多观众看完以后直戳心窝子，戳中了他们的泪点，但是就算哭，他们也特别喜欢看，也愿意看。为什么这些节目老百姓这么爱看?为什么这么火呢?
One viewer said that CCTV News has somehow become a tear-jerker. Indeed, tears of joy and pride welled up in the eyes of quite a few viewers, who were fond of watching the footage series that relate well to their life. The thing is: Why are these programs so popular with our people after all?
3. 中国文化尤其是中国传统文化是一个大宝库、是一个宝藏，取之不尽，用之不竭。《中国诗词大会》就是源于我们中国人从小就背的唐诗宋词，《汉字听写大会》也是中国人都要写的汉字，像新闻里面相濡以沫的老夫妻，他们温情的表白，就代表了中国人的爱情观，执子之手，与子偕老，春节过年的时候一家人照一个全家福，这就是我们中国人的家庭观，过年的时候阖家团圆，这就是我们的中国文化。
Chinese culture in general and traditional Chinese culture in particular represents an inexhaustible treasure house. The Chinese Poetry Conference, a competition of poetry recitation, comprehension and appreciation is rooted in Chinese Tangsong Poetics we have recited since childhood. Likewise, another program entitled Dictation Assembly of Chinese Characters, which is designed to rekindle interest among Chinese readers, is the Chinese version of the English spelling bee. Old couples who have gone thick and thin together as depicted in our news programs reveal their tender love to each other, which sheds light on the Chinese view on romance, i.e., I want to hold your hand and with you I will grow old. We take a family photo when we get together for a reunion during the Spring Festival, which mirrors the Chinese family values as part of the Chinese culture.
